ExWHUemployee suggested that the omission of Said Benrahma against Brighton yesterday was further evidence that David Moyes simply doesn’t fancy the West Ham ace.

The Hammers were absolutely atrocious at home to Brighton and didn’t deserve the point that we ended up with.
David Moyes set his team up with absolutely zero attacking intent. It really was a baffling decision to start Mark Noble ahead of Said Benrahma.

What made it even stranger, however, was the fact that the Scot didn’t even bring the Algerian on off the bench when we were chasing the game and then trying to win it in the final 10 minutes.
At the time we signed Benrahma, it was rumoured that David Moyes wanted to bring Josh King to the London Stadium instead (Claret and Hugh).
And it is now looking more likely that that was the case. The 25-year-old had to wait until December before making his first start. He was superb against Leeds United. Benrahma wasn’t quite at his best against Crystal Palace in the next game, however.

And since then he hasn’t had a look-in. Yesterday was the perfect game to bring the exciting winger back into the frame. Moyes decided not to, however.
And ExWHUemployee suggested that Moyes’s decision emphasises the fact that he didn’t fancy Benrahma in the first place:
It’s Southampton away up next for the Hammers. Surely Said Benrahma must start!
It would surprise nobody if David Moyes left him on the bench yet again, however.
In fact, it would surprise nobody if West Ham found a way to worm out of our obligation to sign the 25-year-old permanently in the summer.
Moyes and Benrahma hasn’t been a match made in heaven so far, that’s for sure.
