ExWHUemployee has claimed that West Ham are keen to sign Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot, possibly on loan, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast (Thursday July 23rd).

Hammers boss David Moyes will undoubtedly be on the look out for a new right-back and a new left-back this summer.

Ryan Fredericks has been poor since moving to the London Stadium and Aaron Cresswell has regressed badly this season.

The problem for West Ham, however, is that it has been widely reported that there will be little, if any money to spend this summer.

Loan deal on the cards?

And with that in mind, ExWHUemployee has claimed that Moyes could be targeting a loan deal for Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot:

“Dalot at Manchester United has been looked at, potentially a loan deal there.”

United brought the 21-year-old to Old Trafford from Porto in the summer of 2018 for around £19 million (BBC).

The Portuguese right-back, who can also operate at left-back, has struggled to impress for Manchester United, however, with just 34 appearances to his name in the last two years.

Dalot has played just four Premier League games this season, and he has fallen out of favour with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The former Porto man maybe just needs more regular first-team action in order to establish himself. And perhaps he would get that at West Ham.

Signing Dalot on loan would be a useful option for the Hammers. There would be no risk involved, and who knows, he might end up being a real asset for David Moyes’s side next season.
