Even with the addition of Tomas Soucek this summer, the Hammers probably need another energetic, dynamic midfielder.
And Eze would be absolutely perfect. The 22-year-old is an attacking midfielder by trade and has racked up and impressive 13 goals and eight assists in 45 Championship outings for QPR (Transfermarkt).
The Athletic’s David Ornstein claimed this morning that West Ham are leading Tottenham in the race to sign the QPR ace.
The prospect of Eze playing just in front of Declan Rice and Soucek in midfield next season is a really tantalising prospect for Hammers fans.
The 22-year-old has all of the attributes needed to go on and become a truly elite player. And if David Moyes manages to bring him to the London Stadium, it really would be an absolute coup for the east London outfit.
The Athletic claims that QPR originally wanted around £20 million for Eze, but they could now be forced to accept less than that amount.
Claret and Hugh have actually suggested that the Hammers could pick the youngster up for just £12 million at the end of this season.
