West Ham United were beaten 3-1 by Liverpool in the Premier League at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
It was all too familiar how things played out for the West Ham fans – we were profligate in front of goal and Liverpool took advantage of some sloppy defending.

The really annoying thing about this was that the Hammers fans knew this was coming, and maybe David Moyes did as well.

It all started early last week when Michail Antonio took part on his regular podcast with Callum Wilson.
Not only did Antonio not back up his words on the pitch but he exited Anfield in a rather shy and timid manner as well…
West Ham man found out against Liverpool
I knew that we would have problems against Liverpool as soon as Antonio made those ridiculous comments earlier on in the week.
And so it proved, as we left Anfield empty-handed.
Antonio clearly felt partly to blame as well. Liverpool Echo journalist Paul Gorst spotted how the Hammers forward left Merseyside with his tail between his legs:

“The smile was a wry one from Michail Antonio as he made his way through the post-match mixed zone area on Sunday afternoon. Antonio made his way past the assembled press after the game and offered little more than a knowing smile and a bowed head as he declined the opportunity for a post-match chat with any of the reporters gathered. Some people might say that Antonio is just having fun on the podcast, and there’s nothing wrong with the comments he makes.”
There might be some people who say he’s just having fun on his podcast. However, I could not disagree more. I truly believe that he is needlessly firing up our opponents. He did it with Tottenham’s Richarlison last season and now he’s done it with Liverpool this term.
I think Moyes should have a word with him about maybe reigning it in slightly on the podcast. There really was no need for him to say what he said about Liverpool, even if he did truly believe it.
Or if he had to say it, he needed to at least back up his words on the pitch.
That obviously didn’t happen and Antonio was clearly embarrassed as he left Anfield after West Ham lost 3-1 to Liverpool. Who knows, maybe that will teach him a lesson.
