And to make matters worse for the Hammers, the Baggies have rubbed salt into their wounds by beating them to reported David Moyes target Cedric Kipre.

The West Ham boss wanted to bring the 23-year-old centre-back to the London Stadium this summer according to the Daily Mail.

But West Brom have beaten the Hammers to the punch, signing the Frenchman for just £1 million (Birmingham Mail).

This summer transfer window has been a horror show already for West Ham. Before the window opened, the Hammers would have been expected to finish above the Baggies next season.

But it could be argued that West Brom are now in a far stronger position than West Ham. In fact, they almost certainly are.

Slaven Bilic is building something exciting at the Hawthorns. David Moyes, meanwhile, is working with one hand tied behind his back at the London Stadium.

The Baggies and the Hammers are heading in totally opposite directions.

With Diangana, Kipre and maybe one or two more additions, West Brom should have a team more than capable of pushing for a mid table finish next season.

Meanwhile, we are destined for another relegation scrap.
