Declan Rice EURO 2020 success. The West Ham ace has been incredible for England this summer. And Darren Bent has made a very big claim about the 22-year-old following his brilliant displays for the Three Lions.
The Hammers star has played a key role for Gareth Southgate’s side this summer.
Rice has formed an incredible central midfield partnership with Leeds ace Kalvin Phillips.
The duo’s performances have been the cornerstone to England’s sensational run to the final of EURO 2020.
The Three Lions take on Italy tonight at Wembley in a game that could have perpetual ramifications for all of the players and coaching staff involved.
Declan Rice EURO 2020 claim made by Darren Bent
Bent thinks that if England are successful against the Italians tonight, Rice will get a standing ovation at every Premier League ground next season…even Tottenham’s, as quoted by talkSPORT:
“It’s going to be interesting to see if they do win it and the reaction when the Premier League starts to these players. You are going to see Declan Rice going to Spurs and getting a standing ovation.”
Oh dear Darren.
We’ve heard some ridiculous claims from talkSPORT pundits in our time, but this one might just take the biscuit.
As good as Rice has been for England, there is quite simply no way that the Spurs fans will be applauding him when he is in a West Ham shirt once again.
The Hammers fans won’t mind that one little bit though. Regional rivalries are what make English football so exciting. And we wouldn’t change that for the world.
