David Moyes made it clear to the West Ham United owners yesterday which summer signing he wants the most.
The Hammers boss fielded a weakened side away at Chelsea in the Premier League yesterday.

In all fairness, the players who came in did a decent job and didn’t disgrace themselves at all.
However, the one area where we really struggled was the final third.
Michail Antonio was given a rest and as a result, the Hammers were totally toothless in the attacking third and we lacked any kind of focal point through the middle.

Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals and Andriy Yarmolenko formed our front-three against Chelsea. The trio interchanged positions throughout the match but none of them were effective through the middle.
It was a painful reminder of just how light we are in the centre-forward department…

It’s clear to see that the Hammers manager should be prioritising the signing of an elite centre-forward in the summer.
In fact, it could be argued that the Scot needs to sign two of them!

Michail Antonio is 32 now, so he can’t be expected to play week in, week out anyway.
The Jamaica international was clearly in need of a rest yesterday and Moyes decided to leave him on the bench.
The lack of options West Ham have to come in for Antonio though is a huge concern. The Hammers owners need to back Moyes to the hilt in the summer transfer market to actually get the striker he wants.
However much money it takes, GSB need to give it to Moyes. West Ham are on the precipice of achieving some real success.
If the Hammers are to do that over the next few years though, Moyes absolutely has to sign a world-class striker in the summer transfer window.
And David Moyes made it very clear to the West Ham owners yesterday that a striker is his absolute priority summer signing.
