David Moyes has just said something after our defeat to Crystal Palace that will really rile the West Ham United fans.
The Hammers were absolutely awful at the London Stadium this afternoon, and Palace thoroughly deserved to win the match.
Moyes set his team up incredibly defensive once again, and the slow tempo and sideways passing was painful to watch.
The players weren’t good, of course they weren’t. But Moyes needs to shoulder the blame yet again here.
Why on earth is he starting Tomas Soucek week in, week out? Why in God’s name did he bring Said Benrahma off instead of the awful Jarrod Bowen? Why does he NEVER play Michail Antonio alongside Gianluca Scamacca rather than use one or the other?
These are questions that are being asked week in week out. The problem is that Moyes isn’t learning from his mistakes. His stubbornness may well end up costing him his job at West Ham.
What’s the definition of insanity again? Trying the same thing over and over again and expecting different results…
Moyes looks like a beaten man. He sounds like one as well. His post-match comments after today’s defeat to Palace proves just how deluded he is with the current state of affairs at the London Stadium…
David Moyes has just said something after Palace defeat that’ll rile West Ham fans
The Scot addressed the media after the 2-1 defeat to the Eagles at the London Stadium this afternoon.
And Moyes responded when asked about his hopes for next week’s games against Blackburn Rovers and Leicester City respectively, as quoted by Football.London:
We’re doing okay, hopefully into next week’s game we’ll have to play much better.
Oh dear oh dear David, what on earth do you mean?
‘We’re doing okay’…wow.
When people are under real pressure, they end up saying some really strange things in a bid to divert attention away from themselves. Those comments today were a prime example of that from Moyes.
That performance today from the Hammers players was an absolute disgrace, but so was the way in which the manager set up his team. 42% possession at home to Crystal Palace just isn’t acceptable.
David Moyes is severely underperforming in his role as West Ham manager. And his comments after the game were totally unacceptable in my opinion. We are in a real crisis at the moment. Relegation is a very real possibility, unless something drastic happens.
And Moyes suggesting that we are ‘doing okay’ is actually insulting to the fans.
