David Moyes delivered a truly baffling performance verdict after West Ham United lost 2-0 to Leicester at the London Stadium.
The Hammers were soundly beaten by the Foxes, and our defending was truly shambolic at times.
Sure, the performance was slightly better than the woeful showing against Crystal Palace last weekend, and so it should have been.
The West Ham players were nowhere near their best yet again though. In fact, it was a toothless performance in my opinion.
Our patterns of play were better but overall, we lacked any kind of cutting edge. Leicester sensed that and put us to bed late on in the second-half.
David Moyes delivers baffling verdict after West Ham vs Leicester
Just because today’s performance was better than Sunday’s one against Palace doesn’t mean that it was a good one.
We never actually threatened Leicester, and that tells us all we need to know.
David Moyes is failing to get the best out of his two biggest summer signings – Lucas Paqueta and Gianluca Scamacca. And that’s a huge problem.
The Scot spoke to reporters after the game and responded when asked what he thought of West Ham’s performance against Leicester today’s s quoted by Football.London:
Dissapointed would be the right word but much improved compared to last week. We couldn’t turn the good periods into goals. I thought it was a good performance.
Come on David, that really wasn’t a good performance today.
He’s either lying or is completely deluded. And in truth, the second one is actually more worrying.
West Ham are bang in trouble right now, and David Moyes saw nothing wrong with our performance against Leicester today. That’s a huge concern. Let’s hope that things improve drastically after the World Cup.
