West Ham United manager David Moyes and Hammers midfielder Tomas Soucek have not been seeing eye-to-eye of late.

That’s according to football journalist Paul Brown who told Give Me Sport that the situation may well be playing on Soucek’s mind:
“It’s always risky to throw any of your kids into a team that’s struggling a little bit, but I do understand the frustration with Soucek. He’s not looked the same player for some time now. There were lots of stories about him not seeing eye-to-eye with the manager. There was talk about him being up for sale in the summer and his contract situation dragged on. I’m sure all that’s been playing on his mind and may be the reason behind his dip in form.”

We have to call this claim out for what it is – absolute rubbish.
He has been bad for the last year or so in all fairness.
The thing is though, David Moyes clearly doesn’t agree with that notion.
West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek claim surely well wide of the mark
Brown’s claim about Soucek and Moyes not seeing eye-to-eye just doesn’t make any sense to me.
Firstly, the Scot plays the 27-year-old week in, week out, in spite of his obvious flaws and poor form.

Surely if they didn’t get along, Soucek would be the first player to be dropped by Moyes?
And secondly, the Czech Republic international’s best assets are his work-rate and his ability to get around the pitch.
That running ability and work ethic are two things that Moyes places huge emphasis on in his team. Soucek is exactly the kind of player that the Scot loves, and he has proven that he really rates him by starting him in all but three Premier League games since the start of the 2020/21 season.
The picture above shows what kind of relationship the West Ham manager shares with Tomas Soucek. We just don’t think there is any truth to the claims that the pair aren’t seeing eye-to-eye at the moment.
