Said Benrahma helping West Ham fan after on-pitch police chase at Leeds really was brilliant to see.
Benrahma is a hugely popular player amongst the West Ham fans. He put in a top class display once again against Leeds.
And he might just go down in folklore as a true Hammers hero now after his antics yesterday at Elland Road.
The 26-year-old was constantly trying to make things happen against Leeds.
Itr was his commitment, tracking back and defensive responsibility that would have pleased David Moyes the most, however.
It wasn’t his performance that caught the eye as much as something he did after Michail Antonio’s winner yesterday, however.
Said Benrahma helps West Ham fan after on-field police chase
The 26-year-old Algerian has produced some magical moments on the pitch since joining West Ham United.
Perhaps his highlight came yesterday, however, and he didn’t even have a football at his feet.
A West Ham fan charged onto the pitch following Antonio’s last gasp winner and a police officer from the Yorkshire constabulary swiftly rugby tackled the not so fleet-footed Hammer.
And here is Benrahma intervening in all his glory…
The bond between this set of players and the fans is like none other I have ever witness in my 37 years as a West Ham fan.
It really is great to see. Hopefully the lad who ran on the pitch yesterday didn’t get in too much trouble.
Benrahma’s actions proved how much he values the support of the West Ham faithful.
And that is one of the main reasons why the Hammers fans value him very highly as well.
