According to a report from the Daily Mail, West Ham are closing in on an £18 million deal to sign Brentford winger Said Benrahma.

And Hammers boss David Moyes could follow up the potential capture of the Algerian by signing Watford centre-back Craig Dawson.

West Ham have made an impressive start to their Premier League campaign, having beaten Wolves and Leicester in our last two outings.

But that will mean nothing if we fail to strengthen our ranks before next Friday’s deadline.

There are so many glaring weakness in David Moyes’s squad. Central defence and central midfield are two obvious ones. But having loaned out Felipe Anderson, West Ham need more bodies in the left wing department as well.

It seems as though they could be close to addressing that particular issue, however.

The Daily Mail claims that the Hammers are closing in on a deal to sign Brentford ace Said Benrahma.

And the Daily Mail also claims that once West Ham bring the 25-year-old Algerian to the London Stadium, they will move to sign Craig Dawson as well.

Whilst Dawson is not the most exciting of additions, he might just be able to do a decent job for us.

Things looked fairly bleak for West Ham fans a few weeks ago. But after a couple of wins and Benrahma potentially on his way to east London, exciting times may well be on the horizon.
