West Ham ace Declan Rice won the Premier League Player of the Year at the London Football Awards last night.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been absolutely sensational for the Hammers over the past two or three years.

Rice has reached another level entirely this season, however, and has transformed into more of a marauding box-to-box player.
Dec won the Young Player of the Year award at the London Football Awards last year. He went one step further this year though.

And it was fully deserved. The 23-year-old is the best central midfielder in the Premier League in my opinion and we are very, very lucky to have him at the London Stadium.
Declan Rice shares funny David Moyes exchange after picking up London Football Awards gong
The West Ham United star was head and shoulders above everyone else in his particular position in the Premier League last season and this season too.
As a result, Declan Rice was handed the player of the year gong at this year’s London Football Awards.
The Hammers star was speaking after picking up the trophy and shared a hilarious exchange he had with David Moyes when the Scot returned to the London Stadium as manager in December 2019, as quoted by the Sun:

“The first spell I was very young and was learning my trade and playing centre-half. Then, it was funny because when he came back for the second spell he came over, he actually swore, and said to me ‘you’ve got better, haven’t you?!’ I looked at him and started laughing and from that moment on we’ve had such a good relationship. The confidence he puts into me is massive and means I can go out and perform when a manager believes in me like that.”
Rice certainly has a fantastic relationship with David Moyes and that’s great news for West Ham as a club.
The 23-year-old has been exceptional over the past couple of years and as a result, he’s been linked with moves to Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City (The Telegraph).
Keeping him at the London Stadium will obviously depend on whether we offer him a good enough contract and can match his ambition in the summer transfer window.
His relationship with Moyes will certainly help us as well though.
And Declan Rice picking up the gong for the best Premier League player over the past year at the London Football Awards is evidence of just how much he is thriving at West Ham United.
