West Ham were magnificent against Tottenham at the London Stadium today and one player’s statistics were quite simply sensational.
The Hammers earned a hard-fought win over their fierce rivals Spurs.
And we were more than deserving of the three points.
David Moyes will have been delighted with the manner in which his West Ham team took the game to Tottenham at the right times.
And he would have been even more pleased with how resolute the players were when their backs were against the wall.
Michail Antonio led the line with aplomb.
Angelo Ogbonna and Kurt Zouma defended brilliantly whilst Ben Johnson and Aaron Cresswell were superb.
It was someone else who stole the show, however, from a statistical stand-point at least.
West Ham star was sensational against Tottenham
As per usual, Declan Rice put in a top notch display.
Rice registered a 92.5% pass accuracy, had 58 touches, made six ball recoveries, won five out of six tackles, completed four long passes from four attempts and made two interceptions (Who Scored).
What can you say in response to that apart from WOW. Just wow.
Rice is a truly sensational player.
We are so lucky to have him at the London Stadium and if we continue to perform like we did today, there is no reason why we can’t keep him for the remainder of his career.
The sky’s the limit for Dec.
And if the West Ham board match his ambition in the transfer market in January and next summer, the 22-year-old might just be able to reach his goals in East London.
What a player…what a man. Our captain.
