His exit from West Ham was confirmed a couple of days ago.

And that was no surprise, considering the fact that he still hadn’t broken into the first-team at 24.

Holland never really kicked on at the London Stadium since joining the Hammers from Everton in 2017.

Much was expected of the speedy winger when he swapped Merseyside for East London five years ago. He suffered a serious hamstring injury whilst on loan with Oxford in 2020, however.

That undoubtedly set him back and from that moment on it was clear to see that he wasn’t going to amount to anything at West Ham.

Who knows?

Had the circumstances been different, the 24-year-old may have forged a career for himself at the London Stadium.

It wasn’t to be though, and we wish him all the best for the next step of his career with MK Dons.

Holland will undoubtedly be a hit at League One level and perhaps he will prove himself this season, and earn a move to a bigger club next summer.

Holland took to Twitter last night and posted a really classy message after his five-year stay with West Ham:

That’s top-class from Holland after his exit from West Ham was confirmed.

We hope everything works out for the 24-year-old with MK Dons. He deserves to be playing regularly and if he stays fit, he should be one of the standout players in League One this season.

He’s certainly good enough to make a difference at that level.

His West Ham exit being confirmed was far from a shock. Hopefully he goes on to light it up with MK Dons, and prove a few people wrong in the process.
