Moussa Dembele statistic will raise a smile from West Ham striker Sebastien Haller amid David Moyes rumours

West Ham United boss David Moyes doesn’t fancy Sebastien Haller and wants Moussa Dembele instead.

West Ham insiders make big claim about Moyes plans for Haller at Sheffield United

That’s the speculation doing the rounds after a report from The Sun last week.

It came after claims in the summer that West Ham and Lyon were considering a swap deal that would see Haller return to France and Dembele come back to England (Hammers News).

Moyes doesn’t rate Haller, wants Dembele instead – report

The Sun says Moyes does not believe Haller is up to the task in the Premier League and is a big fan of former Fulham and Celtic striker Dembele.

But a new statistic emerging about Dembele will raise a smile from Haller and worry Moyes.

With the focus on a potential move for Dembele in January, Whoscored.com – football’s leading data experts – published a damning stat.

The Lyon striker has had seven clear-cut goal scoring chances in Ligue 1 this season and missed them all.

Horrendous stat will raise a wry smile from Haller and worry Moyes

In 10 appearances Dembele has had 22 shots, seven of them considered ‘clear-cut’ and is stuck on zero goals.

On one hand you could argue it is good he is getting a couple of shots off per game.

But that is the least you would expect from a striker playing for one of the biggest clubs in a weaker competition like Ligue 1.

Haller meanwhile has five goals in six appearances this season despite being limited to five starts so far, three of them in the League Cup.

The £45million forward was unfortunate not to score in the win over Fulham last time out, hitting the bar with a header.

Is Moyes being too hasty if he ditches Haller?

And he marked his international debut for Ivory Coast with the winning last week too.

Perhaps Moyes should be sticking rather than twisting with the stakes so high.

The last thing West Ham want is to swap Haller for Dembele only for the French-born Ivorian to rip it up elsewhere.

One could also argue West Ham should be looking to sign a third forward rather than leave themselves with only two again given Michail Antonio’s injury problems.

Over to you Moyes.
