West Ham were absolutely shocking at home to Brighton today. We were lucky to get a point and the Seagulls will feel aggrieved to have left east London without the win. What made the result and performance even more galling for the Hammers fans was the fact that David Moyes chose not to bring Said Benrahma on when we still had a chance to win the game.

The mercurial 25-year-old joined West Ham on transfer deadline day in the summer.
Said Benrahma had to bide his time before making his first start in December. And he really impressed away at Leeds. The winger then started again at home to Crystal Palace but wasn’t at his best.

Since then, he has been discarded like an empty can.
David Moyes clearly not a fan of Said Benrahma
Most West Ham fans expected David Moyes to start Benrahma against Brighton today. To everyone’s shock, however, the Scot started Mark Noble again after his shocker of a display against Chelsea on Monday.
What made it worse was the fact that Moyes refused to bring the Algeria international on even when we were chasing the game.
There is absolutely no valid reason why the Scot left Benrahma on the bench.

Or is there?
Now, this is pure speculation, but what if there was a clause in the 25-year-old’s loan deal whereby we wouldn’t have to make his move a permanent one if he played less than X games?
It would at least explain why Moyes has been so reluctant to use him wouldn’t it.
One thing that wouldn’t surprise anyone would be if GSB were trying to wrangle out of signing Benrahma permanently.
In all honesty, we don’t deserve the talented Algerian. Not under the current ownership and management at least.
