Talented West Ham United youngster Armstrong Okoflex could be sent out on loan in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to a report from The Athletic who claim that the 20-year-old attacker may be sent out on loan in order to guarantee him some regular first-team football next season.

The 2022/23 campaign very well could be a breakout season for Okoflex…whether he’s plying his trade at the London Stadium remains to be seen though.

Okoflex joined West Ham on a free transfer from Celtic in the summer of 2021 and he made a huge impression at the London Stadium for the under-23s last season.

David Moyes must be very excited about the Dublin-born teenager’s development since he swapped Glasgow for East London.

With Mark Robson at the helm of the under-23s, Okoflex is in very good hands. And if he continues along his current trajectory, West Ham will have a seriously good player on our hands.

Every time he played for the U-23s last season, he looked like a level above most of his teammates and the opposition players.

The talented 20-year-old scored 15 goals in 23 games for the Hammers’ youth team last season (Transfermarkt).

Now’s the time for him to make a splash at senior level though. Okoflex is currently training with the first-team squad during West Ham’s pre-season trip to Scotland.

If it is obvious that he won’t play consistently for the Hammers next season though, a loan move away from the London Stadium may well be in order…

If it is obvious to see that the Dublin-born starlet won’t play regularly for the first-team this season, then David Moyes absolutely should send him out on loan.

Another season of under-23 football will do him no good whatsoever.

Choosing the right club for the 20-year-old will be crucial though. West Ham have a long history of sending players out on loan to clubs that are the totally wrong fit for them.

Okoflex is a hugely exciting young talent and has the ability to be a big hit with West Ham in the future.

Perhaps a season on loan in the Championship will do his progression and development the world of good, however.
