West Ham United are planning a major shake-up behind the scenes at academy level with a respected coach set to leave the club.

That’s according to West Ham insider ExWHUemployee.

According to Ex, West Ham’s under 23s boss Dmitri Halajko will leave within the next month as part of a ‘shake-up’ at academy level.

And West Ham’s assistant academy manager Jeremy Sauer will also leave along with others this season.

It comes after Halajko criticised the performance of West Ham’s Under 23 players in a 3-1 defeat to Derby County on Monday night.

“It’s a disappointing performance,” Halajko told whufc.com.

“It’s come off the back of two really good performances against Leeds and Ipswich, where we were really happy with the progress.

“Tonight, we haven’t reached anywhere near those levels and that’s a big disappointment. When you perform below par in games like this, you will get punished, especially at this level.”

Halajko has a number of highly-rated young stars coming through his ranks who have been in and around West Ham’s first team under David Moyes.

Jamal Baptiste, Aji Alese, Manny Longelo, Harrison Ashby and Connor Coventry have all been tipped as potential future West Ham stars.

Moyes has made it clear he is a huge fan of Baptiste in particular and said during pre-season that he wants the young centre back to be training with the West Ham first team (Football.London).

And in the summer West Ham signed several young players for the academy side with a view to potential first team involvement should they prove up to it including Armstrong Okoflex, Thierry Nevers and Pierre Ekwah Elimby.

But speaking on The West Ham Way Patreon site, ExWHUemployee claims Halajko and Sauer will be on their way.

“We have been told that there will be a bit of a shake up at academy level,” ExWHUemployee said.

“Dmitri Halajko, the head under 23s coach, is set to leave within the next month.

“Other key people are expected to be on their way later on in the season including Jeremy Sauer who is the assistant academy manager.”
