With Mark Robson at the helm of the under-23s, Okoflex is in very good hands. And if he continues along his current trajectory, West Ham will have a seriously good player on our hands.

The 19-year-old was at it once again last night, scoring for the Hammers during the U-23s’ 3-0 win over Exeter City in the Premier League Cup.

Okoflex has been on another level for West Ham under-23’s. He has scored consistently for the youth team this season and has played a key contributing role behind our climb to the top of the U-23 table.

The Hammers youngsters were in Premier League Cup action last night away at Exeter. Robson’s side won the game 3-0 and we now sit top of our group having played five games. It was a great performance from the boys last night. But Okoflex was the man who stood out once again.

The former Celtic starlet scored an absolutely unbelievable goal against Exeter:

The challenge for Okoflex now will be to make the step up to senior football over the course of the next 6-12 months.

David Moyes has included the 19-year-old on the bench for a couple of Premier League games recently. The Scot would not have done that, had he thought Okoflex wasn’t ready.

The teenager’s development will be very interesting to watch over the next year or so. He clearly has something very special about him. He proved that once again last night.

Can he make the step up to men’s football though? That remains to be seen. It must be said that the early signs are very good promising…
