With West Ham’s decent enough start to the Premier League season, we are going to discuss whether West Ham can make a break for the Europa League spots.
David Sullivan has admitted that he sees West Ham as a massive club who deserves a European tour and he honestly believes that this season could be the season for a European break.
New signings such as Diafra Sakho, Enner Valencia, Alex Song and Morgan Amalfitano have all played a massive impact in securing two wins out of our last three matches. The other additional signings aren’t there to make up the numbers at all, they’ll just have an impact over the duration of the whole season that’s all.
For West Ham fans to be visiting fancy restaurants, lovely attractions and baking hot weather of Spain or the horrible weather of Russia, West Ham need to finish 5th, 6th or reach the FA Cup final. That’s exactly how Hull City got into Europe but unfortunately got knocked out in the Qualifying Rounds.
With the return of Matt Jarvis and Kevin Nolan after they both played a part in the win over Queens Park Rangers, we look like a right force now. Also, Mark Noble, Cheikou Kouyate, Guy Demel, Joey O’Brien and Andy Carroll are all to return within the next month or two. We should be looking at picking up at least 4 points from our next 3 matches (Burnley, Manchester City, Stoke).
We shall see whether the Hammers can push for a European spot. It will be tough but we are West Ham.
