Thousands of Hammers flying out to Zagreb to soak up the atmosphere on first leg of European tour
West Ham have been allocated 1,243 tickets that have been snapped up by the highest priority points holders and bond holders.
But thousands more will travel to soak up the atmosphere.
West Ham fans heading to Zagreb this week have been advised not to wear shirts sporting the name of £33 million new boy Vlasic – who is almost certain to start the game – or former Hammer Davor Suker.
The Croatian stars both started their careers at Dinamo Zagreb’s fierce rivals Hajduk Split.
Supporters advised not to wear Vlasic or Suker shirts
And in a message to Hammers supporters on social media, the Croatian Irons have advised fans that wearing Vlasic or Suker shirts could be seen as provocation by Zagreb’s Ultras the Bad Blue Boys aka BBB.
Croatian Irons say there should be no issues wearing colours in Zagreb besides.
“Don’t think so (that there will be any issues wearing West Ham colours in Zagreb) BBB are generally superb lads, if you go near stadium pubs then may be some provocations or reactions,” Croatian Irons said on Twitter.
“Just please don’t wear shirt with Suker or Vlasic on it. Long story, but some may precept it as provocation.”
Croatian Irons have West Ham party set up to welcome Hammers fans at brilliant pub
Meanwhile the Croatian West Ham supporters club has also advised travelling West Ham fans where to go to enjoy the game in Zagreb.
The group says Harat’s Pub awaits West Ham fans with open arms, a giant screen and a party atmosphere.
“That’s how it was at Harat’s Pub during the World Cup 2018. And now Harat’s waits for the West Ham fans next week in Zagreb!” Croatian Irons said.
The supporters club has arranged a ‘West Ham party’ at Harat’s and urged Hammers fans to head there for the game.
Travel safe Hammers fans and let’s show Europe what makes West Ham’s famous support so special.
