David Moyes has made a seriously bold claim about West Ham ahead of the second leg against Sevilla next week.

For the third game in a row West Ham spurned golden chances to end up on the losing side as they fell to a 1-0 defeat against Sevilla in the first leg of their Europa League last 16 clash.

To West Ham’s credit, though, they dug in and kept themselves in the tie with the second leg at the London Stadium next Thursday night.

An estimated 10,000 West Ham fans travelled to Spain for the game. The result was disappointing but far from disastrous.

And with everything to play for in the second leg, hope springs eternal that West Ham can make it through to the quarter-finals on a huge night at the London Stadium.

It will be West Ham’s biggest single game since the 2006 FA Cup final.

Things are hugely frustrating for West Ham at the moment. The team has started to play better than they have been for a few months. But the goals have dried up.

However it is not because the Hammers are failing to create chances. If that was the case then there would be casue for concern.

Instead it is the side’s profligacy that is costing West Ham dear with some absolutely wonderful chances to score passed up in the last three games alone.

West Ham fans are desperate to see the team start scoring freely again.

Now Moyes has made a seriously bold claim about West Ham ahead of second leg against Sevilla.

Because the Scot has confidently stated his team WILL score next Thursday night and hopes they will be able to manage the game accordingly (whufc.com).

David Moyes makes seriously bold claim about what West Ham will do next week against Sevilla

“We’ll get a goal next week, there’s no doubt about that,” Moyes bullishly told West Ham TV after the game.

“What we need to do is make sure we don’t concede any. Because they’re a good team and they’ll keep the ball and they might make it difficult for us and we’re going to have to probably chase the ball at different times.

“But ultimately we’ll go into the game feeling as if we’re right in the tie… because we’re not out of the tie, we’re right in it.”

We can only hope Moyes is right. With the West Ham fans behind the team, anything is possible next Thursday.

Come. On. You. Irons.
