West Ham have been keeping their tabs on Fernando Llorente’s situation, according to reliable insider EXWHUEmployee.
Llorente is out of contract at Tottenham Hotspur this summer. And if Spurs do not hand him a new deal, West Ham could swoop on a free transfer.
Manuel Pellegrini wants at least one new striker this summer. Lucas Perez and Andy Carroll have both left while Javier Hernandez will probably depart.
Llorente could be a cheap alternative to the top targets. The 34-year-old was a back-up option to Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min last season but he still netted eight goals.
Fernando Llorente: new Andy Carroll?

Standing at 6ft 4in tall, the former Spain international is a target man. In that regard, he could be a like-for-like replacement for West Ham’s long-term battering ram Carroll.
But Llorente’s lack of experience, age and lack of goals in the last couple of years will concern West Ham supporters. And if he is the main striker target, that would be underwhelming.
West Ham fans took to Twitter to discuss this transfer rumour. Here are some of the best tweets after EXWHUEmployee revealed West Ham might make a move for Llorente.
