There is terrible news emerging this morning that Newcastle could beat West Ham to the signing of Chelsea striker Armando Broja.
That’s according to a report from iNews who claims that the Hammers’ insistence on a permanent deal for Broja could open the door for Newcastle to sign the Albanian striker from Chelsea.
It seems as though now we have to worry about Newcastle though, and that is obviously a big concern.
The Toon are now the richest club in world football following the recent takeover from the Saudi Public Investment Fund. And as a result they will be able to offer Broja huge wages.

This is one that the Hammers obviously need to get wrapped up as soon as humanly possible…
Newcastle could pip West Ham to Broja
iNews claims that the door could be open for the Magpies to swoop in and sign the Chelsea ace because the Hammers are so insistent on a permanent deal for him, rather than a season-long loan.
Losing out on Broja to Newcastle would be a massive blow for David Moyes and West Ham to stomach.
Broja will take whichever club wins the race for his signature to a whole new level entirely.
He has been described as an ‘exceptional’ striker by The Athletic. Meanwhile, One Football label him as ‘lethal’. And Albania coach Sergio Porrini called him ‘devastating’.
Broja seems to be ideally suited to West Ham and considering the way in which he stretches the opposition with tireless runs into the channels, it’s easy to see why Moyes wants to sign him.
The Chelsea owned ace is strong, quick and is a really, really good finisher. Broja bagged nine goals and one assist in 36 games for Southampton last term (Transfermarkt).

It is his all around game that has been the most impressive thing about him though. The way in which he holds up the ball with his back to goal and brings others into play has been truly magnificent to watch.
The striker absolutely tore the Hammers apart last season, bagging one goal and one assist in three appearances against us. He gave our defenders nightmares and was a total menace to our back line during all three clashes.
However, the news that Newcastle could now hijack West Ham United’s proposed deal to sign Broja is a huge blow for us.
Let’s just hope that the lure of remaining in London and the chance to play European football helps us pip the Magpies to the 20-year-old’s signature in the summer transfer window.
