Jack Wilshere’s latest injury setback has prompted West Ham to make a swift transfer move.
According to The London Evening Standard, West Ham are now likely to offer Samir Nasri a contract.
Nasri, who is a free agent, has been training with West Ham for several weeks in a bid to get his fitness up.
If he can prove his fitness, Manuel Pellegrini is willing to offer him a deal with the Hammers.
Jack Wilshere injury

Wilshere’s latest injury is a concern for West Ham, who are heavily depleted this season.
According to The London Evening Standard, the 26-year-old is set to miss the next five weeks with an ankle injury.
But The Sun reports that he might have to undergo surgery if rest does not fix his ankle and that could rule him out of the season.
The sporadic England international joined the Irons in the summer but has only managed five games since then.
Samir Nasri

With Wilshere joining Manuel Lanzini and Andriy Yarmolenko on the long-term injury list, West Ham are keen to sign a creative midfielder.
Nasri fits the bill as a playmaker and he is a free agent, which makes things easier.
The 31-year-old previously worked with Pellegrini at Manchester City and they won the title together in the 2013/14 season.
But the former France international is serving an 18-month doping ban and is only eligible from January.
Nonetheless, it appears Wilshere’s injury has convinced West Ham to snap Nasri up.
