And now Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to go in for him again (The Sun).
However, West Ham seemingly face a very big problem indeed…
What West Ham have heard behind scenes in race for ‘incredible’ Amadou Onana
Apparently the Toffees midfielder is not keen on joining the Hammers in the summer transfer window.
That’s a huge blow for us as far as I’m concerned and I can’t help but think we should have pushed the boat out more to bring him to the club last summer.
I have no doubts in my mind that Onana would be a superb addition to Moyes’s ranks at the London Stadium, if the Scot managed to sign him.

The young midfielder is a really special talent. He has been described by Sport Magazine as a ‘sensational’ young player. Meanwhile, he’s been labelled as an ‘incredible’ player by Total Football Analysis.
The Belgium international really impressed with the Toffees last season, and he’s exactly the kind of player we need in the middle of the park.
He has power, pace, athleticism, energy and dynamism in abundance and would take us to a whole new level as a team if he took Tomas Soucek’s place.
However, the fact that West Ham are not getting any encouragement behind the scenes about potentially signing Amadou Onana means that it’s unlikely to happen. What a shame – just like it was last summer when we missed out on his services.
