West Ham’s new signing Aaron Cresswell has admitted that once West Ham put a bid in for him, it was the easiest decision that he’s ever had to make in his footballing career.
Aaron Cresswell, 24, was in the Championship Team Of The Season for the 2013/2014 campaign so for West Ham to snap up the left-back on a permanent deal is seen as a great purchase by the West Ham board.
Reports suggest that West Ham signed Cresswell for £4million but the price may rise up to a total of £7.5million once he surpasses a certain amount of matches in the claret and blue. Although £7.5million may sound outrageous on a left-back who has only featured in the Championship, Cresswell himself has stated that he’s completely ready for the step up to the biggest league in the world.
Aaron Cresswell answered the fans’ questions via Twitter earlier today and he was asked a variety of questions going from “What’s your favourite crisps flavour” to “Which one ground are you looking forward to playing at the most?” But the most intriguing question was “Would you rather win a cap for England or play in an FA Cup final with West Ham?” And Cresswell answered the question by sitting on the fence. What we can all gather from this answer is that he hasn’t got a personal goal as of yet, he is still young so has plenty of potential, heart and desire left in him to want to reach that England cap and a Hammers Cup Final too!
I believe that Cresswell has to live up to his potential in the Premier League for us, otherwise Allardyce will bench him and sign a mediocre foreigner who our fans have never heard of. Allardyce is usually spot on with permanent signings in the full-back area so I have every ounce of faith in him for this signing.
Up the Hammers!
