It has been claimed that West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville is a surprise January transfer window target for Tottenham Hotspur.

Summerville has been electric for West Ham over the past couple of weeks and it would be no surprise if he had admirers at Tottenham.

Ironically, Summerville played a key role for West Ham against Tottenham on Saturday, scoring the goal that helped earn his side all three points.

Now numerous reports are claiming that the 24-year-old is a shock January transfer window target for Spurs (Daily Mail).

Urmmmmm….what?! How would you feel if West Ham SOLD Summerville to Spurs?! 🤔

Earlier in the window, Summerville was actually suggested as a target for Galatasaray.

It’s clear to see that Nuno Espirito Santo needs to keep him at the London Stadium, though, given his quality and explosive pace.

What Tottenham insider has said about Crysencio Summerville transfer

Summerville had the chance to leave West Ham back in the summer but he apparently had no interest in moving on.

The fleet-footed winger, 24, has been at West Ham for 18 months now, but could his time in east London really be set to come to an end?

One thing’s for sure, the Hammers need to keep the former Leeds man if they are to remain in the Premier League this season.

Tottenham insider Alasdair Gold shared a Summerville update via his YouTube channel.

Gold shared what people inside the club have told him about the apparent interest in the West Ham winger.

I saw there was some links with Crysencio Summerville, Gold explained.

Apparently according to those I’ve spoken to inside the club, there’s nothing in that.

Not that West Ham would be open to selling Summerville to Tottenham in the first place but that update from Gold will be very well-received at the London Stadium.

Crysencio Summerville to Tottenham claim means only one thing

If those inside Tottenham have completely ruled out a move to sign Summerville from West Ham, it’s obvious where the rumours have come from.

What do YOU think is the reason for Summerville’s sudden return to form?

Has he shown that West Ham don't need a new winger?

The Summerville to Spurs claims were surely agent-driven, especially given the fact that he has only performed to a really high level in the Hammers’ last two games.

The balance of power has very much shifted in the modern game.

Agents have more bargaining power than ever before and are becoming increasingly involved in transfers.

West Ham forward Crysencio Summerville has been top-class for West Ham in their last two games.

But his form this season on the whole simply hasn’t warranted a big-money move away from the London Stadium.

Tottenham may well have a proper look at Summerville in the summer if he maintains his current form for the remainder of the season.

Until then, though, the Dutchman is very much a Hammer.
