The 28-year-old was a huge hit at the London Stadium after joining the Hammers on loan from Manchester United in January.

Lingard established himself as a huge fan favourite at West Ham, helping the club to secure a sixth placed finish in the Premier League table.

David Moyes is desperate to bring the 27-capped England international to the London Stadium from Old Trafford on a permanent basis this summer according to The Daily Mail.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could demand as much as £30 million for Lingard this summer, however, according to The Sun.

For a start, Jesse will be 29 in December. He has just one year remaining on his deal with Manchester United as well.

J Lingz is a top class player. He suits our playing style perfectly. But David Moyes has to be smart with his player recruitment this summer.

The Hammers are far from flush with funds.

And if Man United do demand £30 million for Lingard, we might just be better served looking elsewhere.

25-year-old West Brom ace Matheus Pereira could be picked up for around £20 million (The Mirror) after all!

Let’s make this very clear. We all want Jesse Lingard at West Ham next season. But Moyes has to be sensible.

There is no point blowing more than half his budget on one player this summer, considering how many players we actually need to sign.

If we could pick the 28-year-old up for around £15-20 million, that would be a different story.

Should Man United refuse to budge on their £30m asking price, however, then the Hammers should just walk away. As hard as that will undoubtedly be to do.
