West Ham want to sign 24-yo star with incredibly rare style in the summer transfer window for £30m

The summer transfer window will be a vitally important one for West Ham United head coach Julen Lopetegui.

David Moyes was replaced by Julen Lopetegui earlier this summer, and the Spaniard has already made his presence known at West Ham.

The Hammers head coach has made three signings in the summer transfer window so far – Luis Guilherme, Wes Foderingham and Max Kilman.

However, it’s quite clear to see that Lopetegui’s work is far from done, if he is to oversee some genuine progress at the London Stadium over the next few years.

The West Ham chief is said to be eyeing up a big squad overhaul this summer, with a bare minimum of six new signings on his radar.

If West Ham are to be competitive on all fronts next season, he needs to sign a striker, a central midfielder and a left winger at the very least before the transfer window slams shut.

It could be argued that the addition of another versatile forward wouldn’t go a miss either – someone who can play right across the front-line.

And now it seems like Lopetegui has someone very specific in mind…

West Ham want 24-yo attacker in the summer transfer window

So the Hammers are apparently keen to sign an attacker who lit up Euro 2024 this summer.

According to a report from Turkish outlet Sabah (print edition July 17th, page 17), West Ham are eyeing up a move for talented Galatasaray ace Baris Alper Yilmaz in the summer transfer window.

It is alleged that he will cost €35 million (£30 million), but the Super Lig side are desperate to keep hold of him.

He bagged seven goals and 12 assists in 55 games for Galatasaray last season, and really impressed for Turkey out in Germany at Euro 2024.

Yilmaz is a right-footed right winger – a rare commodity in this day and age. However, he can play out wide on the left as well, and through the middle as a striker if need be.

£30 million for the 24-year-old seems like decent value to me in the current market, albeit slightly expensive given his lack of Premier League experience.

And it remains to be seen whether the West Ham owners will be prepared to splash that kind of cash on Yilmaz in the summer transfer window.
