The futures of West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini and his Tottenham Hotspur counterpart Mauricio Pochettino have been the subject of intense speculation of late.
Having not won for seven games in all competitions, West Ham boss Pellegrini is a man under threat.
Meanwhile over at Tottenham, the brilliant side built by Pochettino has been slowly crumbling.
The Hammers were widely backed to challenge the top six this season.

London rivals at a crossroads over managers

But West Ham’s nosedive from third in the league to 16th has alarmed fans and the club’s owners alike.
Like West Ham, Tottenham have only won three games so far this season. And they too last tasted victory in the Premier League nearly two months ago when they beat Southampton.
That has seen the spotlight intensified on the Argentine’s position. It was already the source of much speculation given the reported interest in his services from the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid.
West Ham vs Tottenham is always a big game. There is no love lost between the two clubs and their supporters.

West Ham vs Spurs clash takes on huge significance

But the clash after the international break has suddenly been given extra meaning after a huge ‘exclusive’ claim from The Telegraph.
The newspaper is reporting that the match, which already looks make-or-break for Pellegrini, could be decisive for Pochettino’s Tottenham future.
The Telegraph’s report – headlined ‘Exclusive: Time running out for Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham reign’ – claims the match has the Spurs boss on a knife-edge.

‘The game could even prove decisive for Pochettino himself’

“Pochettino is heading towards the point of no return at Tottenham Hotspur as fears grow that he will not be able to salvage their season,” The Telegraph reports.

“The West Ham United game immediately after the international break is now rated as make or break for Tottenham’s campaign, and could even prove decisive for the manager himself.”

The report adds plenty of spice to an already fiery encounter.

Both teams will need to bring their A game. The future of their managers may well depend on it.

West Ham fans would take great relish in being the team responsible for ending the reign of Tottenham’s best manager for generations.

Spurs themselves would enjoy extending West Ham’s misery and potentially ending the much-hyped reign of Pellegrini.

This will be one not to miss.
