Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to bolster his central midfield ranks at the London Stadium.
Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek have forged a magnificent partnership in the middle of the park.
Moyes has little to call upon in reserve, however.

And Arsenal ace Lucas Torreira could just be the perfect summer addition for West Ham.
The 25-year-old joined the Gunners from Sampdoria in the summer of 2018 for around £26 million (BBC).
He is impressed during his debut campaign in England but his form fell away last season.
Torreira is currently on loan with Atletico Madrid and ESPN claims that the 26-capped Uruguay international has no future at the Emirates under Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal star Lucas Torreira perfect for West Ham
The tenacious, tough-tackling South American would surely be a great asset for the Hammers.

The 25-year-old, who earns £75k-a-week (Spotrac) has a great engine and is well versed in protecting the defenders who play behind him.
Torreira’s playing style is quintessentially South American.
He loves a crunching tackle and he would endear himself to the West Ham faithful immediately with that kind of commitment.
If Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is indeed so keen to move the Uruguayan on this summer, the Hammers should be able to pick him up for a reasonable fee.
And David Moyes shouldn’t think twice about bringing Torreira to the London Stadium at the end of the season.
