West Ham United have been told what Toulouse are looking for in order to part ways with Charlie Cresswell in January.

Cresswell was on West Ham’s radar in the summer as well, but a move to the London Stadium did not materialise for the English defender.

However, he continues to have admirers at the club and a January move cannot be ruled out at this stage.

Toulouse want around £22million for Charlie Cresswell in January

According to The Athletic, the Ligue 1 side are looking for a fee in the region of £22million to part ways with the Preston-born defender in January.

Toulouse wanted £17.6million for the 23-year-old in the summer, but his valuation has now increased as he’s put in consistent performances for them.

West Ham are in talks for Cresswell, but are yet to make an official bid for him.

Can Charlie Cresswell address West Ham’s defensive issues?

Charlie Cresswell wins 3.91 aerial duels per 90 minutes – that puts him in the 97th percentile in Europe’s top five leagues. He could be useful…?

Despite the hike in valuation, the London Stadium outfit remain keen on securing his services in the January transfer window.

Their scouts have continued to monitor his development and a move in the coming weeks could be on the cards.

While Cresswell is happy at Toulouse, he’s aware that a return to the Premier League would boost his chances of making the England squad.

Which position do West Ham need to strengthen the most and why? Who is your dream January signing?

What has been said about West Ham United target Charlie Cresswell

Cresswell was on loan at Millwall in 2023 and he impressed manager Gary Rowett a great deal.

Not only was he solid defensively, but he also scored five goals and helped them push for the playoffs.

Waxing lyrical over him, Rowett said: “He’s been outstanding. He’s shown a real calm authority and consistency to his performances. I think I’ve said it all the way through, he’s going to be a top player, but he’s not far off that now.”

Carles Martinez Novell, who is his manager at Toulouse, has also been extremely impressed with the 23-year-old and his aerial dominance.

Cresswell is known to put his body on the line for the team and that certainly has won over Novell.

He stated: “He’s a true warrior. I adore him.”

Nuno most certainly would want someone like Cresswell in his side, especially given how inconsistent Mavropanos and Kilman have been this season.

The valuation may prove to be a stumbling block, but the Hammers could look to offer a player in exchange in order to bring down the price.
