West Ham United face the nightmare prospect of missing out on Jesse Lingard this summer with French club Nice now keen to sign the Manchester United owned ace (Calcio Mercato).
The 28-year-old joined the Hammers on loan from Man United in January.
And what an incredible addition he has been to David Moyes’s squad.
Lingard has been on fire for West Ham over the past three months, racking up nine goals and three assists in just 11 games for the East London outfit.
Signing Jesse on a permanent deal in the summer should be David Moyes’s absolute priority.
The Manchester United owned ace has had such a huge impact at the London Stadium that not having him next season seems unfathomable.
West Ham face nightmare Jesse Lingard scenario
The Hammers now have to battle Nice for the 28-year-old according to Calcio Mercato.
Nice are currently sitting in mid-table in Ligue 1. They are a hugely attractive proposition for potential new signings, however, due to where they are situated on the French Riviera.
Lingard may well fancy a move abroad. If he does, West Ham face the nightmare prospect of missing out on Jesse.
The 28-year-old does seem to be incredibly happy at the London Stadium, however.

And if West Ham qualify for Europe, we will still have a great chance of signing Lingard permanently this summer.
