The 29-year-old Hammers centre-back will be out of contract at the London Stadium at the end of the season.

ExWHUemployee recently claimed that Balbuena could leave West Ham this summer, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast (Wednesday March 3rd).

It has been claimed that multiple foreign clubs have already made approaches for the 14-capped Paraguay international.

Balbuena’s agent Renato Bittar told Versus Radio that ‘The General’ will almost certainly leave West Ham in the summer.

David Moyes provides Fabian Balbuena update

It seems as though the Paraguayan’s stay in East London won’t definitely be over at the end of the season.

Moyes responded to reporters when asked about Balbuena’s situation on Friday, as quoted by Football.London:

“We’re well aware of it. Fabian Balbuena had a brilliant start to the season for us. Then Issa Diop got his chance and so too did Craig Dawson so Balbuena has found himself pushed out a little bit. We’ll have a look at it [his contract situation] in the summer. That’s the plan.”

In all fairness, it seems strange that the powers that be at West Ham would leave discussions until the summer, considering the fact that Balbuena’s contract will then be expired.

If we read between the lines, it seems almost certain that the 29-year-old will be on his way in a few months time.

Signed from Corinthians in the summer of 2018 for around £4 million (The Sun), the Paraguayan ace has been a decent servant for West Ham.

Moving him on this summer will 100 per cent be the right decision, however.
