Hammers boss David Moyes and Toffees chief Carlo Ancelotti will both surely be keen to bolster their central defensive ranks at the London Stadium and Goodison park respectively this summer.
Football journalist Nicolo Schira claimed earlier this week that both West Ham and Everton are keen to sign Maksimovic.
And it now seems like the 25-capped Serbia international is closing in on a move to the Premier League.

FC Inter News claims that the 29-year-old Napoli ace’s agent has offered his client to both the Hammers and the Toffees.
The 6ft 4in centre-back will be available on a free transfer in the summer.
West Ham or Everton to sign Nikola Maksimovic?
The 29-year-old would be a fine addition for either side.
Maksimovic is vastly experienced and his playing style seems to be tailor made for the Premier League.
The seasoned veteran is an old school, no-nonsense defender. He is fairly accomplished with the ball at his feet as well.
In 16 Serie A outings this term, Maksimovic has averaged 1.1 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 2.8 clearances per game. He has also won an average of 1.9 aerial duals per match. The centre-back averages 54.8 passes per game with a supremely impressive completion rate of 92.5% (Who Scored).
Signing him on a free transfer seems like somewhat of a no-brainer for either West Ham or Everton.
It remains to be seen whether Maksimovic will be plying his trade at the London Stadium or Goodison Park next season, however.
