Reported West Ham United transfer target and Liverpool outcast Loris Karius has taken his future into his own hands.

West Ham have been linked with a surprise move for the Liverpool goalkeeper.

The German was shipped out to the Turkish giants back in 2018 after his calamitous performance in the Champions League final gifted Real Madrid victory over Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The Hammers do not see Darren Randolph as a genuine number one ‘keeper. And Lukasz Fabianski will turn 36 next season.

David Moyes is reported to want to sign Karius for West Ham when his loan move at Besiktas comes to an end according to Turkish outlet Fanatik, The Daily Mail and Voetbal 24.

Well that has come about sooner than expected after Karius took his future into his own hands (Sky Sports).

The Liverpool loanee has terminated the two-year loan following bust-up with Besiktas hierarchy over unpaid wages.

Karius announced on Instagram on Monday his two-year loan stint at the Turkish club would be cut short and he will return to Anfield.

It comes after the 26-year-old submitted a complaint to FIFA and had a bust-up with the Besiktas hierarchy for not paying his wages over the course of his stay at Vodafone Park.

“Hi everyone, today I terminated my contract with Besiktas,” Karius wrote.

“It’s a shame it comes to an end like this but you should know that I have tried everything to solve this situation without any problems. I was very patient for months telling the board over and over again.”

At 26 years old, Karius undoubtedly has his best years ahead of him. But his form at Besiktas has failed to convince them to sign him permanently.

Liverpool outcast has all the hallmarks of another Hammers horror

The Daily Mail and Voetbal 24 claim Karius will be available for £4.5million in the next window.

The reports suggest that would make the Liverpool outcast a ‘low risk’ signing for Moyes and West Ham.

But the player appears to enjoy the limelight and thus far has failed to back that up with performances on the pitch.

Karius recently spoke out about his future, revealing he has messaged Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on a regular basis (Bild).

The Hammers have surely learned from their past mistake of bringing in the error-prone Roberto last summer.

Signing Karius from Liverpool would represent a similar mistake in the making.

Bringing the German to the London Stadium has all the makings of an absolute disaster signing for West Ham.

Karius is Liverpool’s problem… for now

Hammers fans have been incredulous at the links, reacting on social media to the speculation, read full story here.

But he is Liverpool’s problem for now. Until the next transfer window opens at least.

“As it stands, Karius will be Liverpool’s player next season, so there is the opportunity to challenge Adrian for that spot as Alisson’s deputy,” Sky Sports’ Liverpool reporter Vinny O’Connor said.

“There’s certainly been no decision taken to simply offload him and he will return to Liverpool and work with Alisson, Adrian and goalkeeper coach John Achterburg.

“Long term, clearly, what the player wants will be important.”
