The Telegraph have claimed that Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to bring the 27-year-old to the London Stadium this summer.
West Ham need to bolster their central midfield ranks before the start of next season.
It could be argued that Moyes should be looking to sign a defensive midfielder, however.
We have enough attack minded midfielders and wingers at the club already.
So signing the 27-year-old Chelsea ace would be a really strange move. Especially considering his reported price-tag!

West Ham told to flash the cash for Ross Barkley
The Express & Star claims that the Hammers will have to pay £30 million if they want to sign the English midfielder this summer.
Moyes knows Barkley very well indeed. The Scot gave him his debut way back in 2011 when he was in charge of Everton.
The West Ham boss may well be a big fan of the 27-year-old. But let’s be honest here, the Scot should be paying nowhere near £30 million for Ross Barkley.

Moyes needs to strengthen in other areas of his squad first and foremost. The additions of two centre-forwards, a defensive midfielder, a left-back and a goalkeeper should all be priorities for the Hammers boss.
Barkley would be somewhat of a luxury signing. In fact, that’s probably being too kind to him.
We should just avoid a move to sign the Chelsea midfielder this summer.
