Tim Steidten is clearly working tirelessly to get some deals over the line for West Ham United this summer.
West Ham appointed Tim Steidten as the new director of football back in July 2023, and he’s already been responsible for the signings of Mohammed Kudus, Edson Alvarez and Konstantinos Mavropanos.
The German was heavily involved in the appointment of Julen Lopetegui, and is believed to be pushing the Spanaird to achieve a top six finish in the 2024/25 season.
After a recent scouting trip to Brazil, Steidten is thought to be closing in on a deal to bring Luis Guilherme to West Ham for around £25.5 million.
The 45-year-old still has so much more business to do this summer though.
Signing a top-class central defender should be right at the very top of his agenda, and it is said to be one of Lopetegui’s chief priorities.
Now the Hammers will apparently try to push through a deal for one of Steidten’s main targets tomorrow…

West Ham to push through £8.5m deal after Tim Steidten recommendation
The German has a brilliant eye for emerging young talent – perhaps players who have been discarded by bigger clubs previously.
And our latest target certainly fits into that category.
According to a report from Revista Colorada, West Ham will press ahead with a move to sign Vitao tomorrow (Monday).
The Hammers’ interest in signing Vitao first emerged earlier this week, when it was claimed that Steidten had identified the 24-year-old as a potential target.
And now West Ham seem to be ready to ramp up their interest in bringing the Brazilian to the London Stadium.
It has actually been claimed that the Hammers have already made a £6.8 million bid for Vitao, with Internacional asking for closer to £8.5 million.
He’s tall, strong in the air, quick along the ground and has real athleticism. On paper, he seems to be the ideal type of centre-back we need.
However, he’s still somewhat of an unknown quantity, certainly when it comes to playing in Europe. I would actually be surprised if Tim Steidten only brought Vitao to West Ham, and not in addition to another proven central defender.
