West Ham want to sign Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira on loan, according to The Mirror.
Manuel Pellegrini is eyeing reinforcements in the January window despite leading the Hammers to four straight wins.
With many injury concerns in the first-team squad, West Ham are looking to strengthen their squad.
West Ham chase Pereira
Pereira is a loan target for West Ham, with Man United manager Jose Mourinho using him sparingly.
The 22-year-old has turned down a new deal at Manchester United and his current contract expires at the end of the season.
But the Red Devils have the option to trigger a one-year contract extension, which they are willing to take up.
Once they secure his future beyond the end of the season, Manchester United will be in a position to loan him out to West Ham.
But Arsenal and Chelsea could rival West Ham for Pereira, who they see as a long-term midfield option.
Who is Andreas Pereira?
Pereira can play in central midfield or further forward in an attacking midfield role.
The once-capped Brazil international, who represented Belgium at youth level, has had loan spells in Spain with Granada and Valencia.
But since returning to Old Trafford in the summer, Pereira has only managed six outings in all competitions.
With 189 passes in those six games, as per Who Scored, it is clear that Belgian-born midfielder is a playmaker.
As West Ham are still without Manuel Lanzini, Pereira could be a short-term replacement for the Argentine at The London Stadium.
