The Hammers are eyeing up a potential move for the 28-year-old centre-half and he wants to move to the London Stadium according to the Evening Standard.

David Moyes may well have his eye on signing a new centre-back in January with Angelo Ogbonna having been ruled out potentially for the rest of the season.

Tarkowski is a man who West Ham have been chasing for over a year now.

In fact, The Independent suggested last year that Moyes was desperate to bring him to East London.

So it would be no surprise to see the Hammers swoop in for the Burnley defender in January.

West Ham target Tarkowski set for January move

That’s according to The Athletic who claim that the 28-year-old’s days at Turf Moor are numbered.

He is out of contract with Burnley in the summer and will most likely be moved on in January.

In order for that to happen though, Sean Dyche will surely have to lower his demands for the central defender.

Burnley want around £20 million for Tarkowski (Evening Standard).

There is no way West Ham will be paying that kind of money for a player who will be out of contract in the summer.

There is certainly a case to be made that Moyes should be looking for greater value for money.

Tarkowski is a decent centre-half though, and if West Ham could pick him up for closer to £8-10 million, it might just be worth our while signing him.

According to the Athletic, Tarkowski will be on his way from Burnley imminently. Where he will be playing his football next remains to be seen, however.
