Since the window opened on Wednesday, the rumours have been coming in thick and fast as West Ham. It seems as if we are looking at players in two position primarily, centre back and striker. Well, it appears as if West Ham have lodged a bid for a striker, according to reports this morning. The sum is rumoured to be around the £6 million mark, and the player in question is none other than former Hammer Demba Ba.
Demba Ba left West Ham on sour terms to say the least when we got relegated, he practically jumped ship the first chance he got. However who could blame him, he had proved popular with fans since his January arrival that season and he was sure to attract interest anyway. I think that many, if not all, West Ham fans would love to see him back to claret and blue once again. THis is mainly because he is just what we need at the moment, a goalscorer.
Ba has also fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea, with some considering to be their 3rd choice striker. Jose Mourinho could be reluctant to let him go, as he has said that that lack in the goal scoring department. This could mean we should have maybe waited until they brought in another striker, with it rumoured that they are tracking Napoli’s Higuain for a £50 million fee. However £6 million is only just short of what Chelsea paid Newcastle to bring him to Stamford Bridge, so he may still be tempted.
The only problem for me is that Ba turnt us down in August, as he thought he would be playing in more games as he had done. It has been the other way around with him finding games hard to come by, so move back to his former club may tempt him.
