West Ham United striker target Gianluca Scamacca left out of Sassuolo friendly as report claims he’s about to be sold.

Chelsea striker Armando Broja is said to be West Ham’s prime target this summer.

But that move is far from a sure thing, so West Ham boss Moyes undoubtedly needs another option.

And links to Italian striker Scamacca are not going away.

West Ham are said to have spoken to Sassuolo about signing Scamacca according to a recent report from 90min.

It has been widely reported that Sassuolo will cash in on Scamacca this summer. Bids were expected from some top clubs including PSG, Inter Milan, Milan and Juventus.

Football Italia claimed those so-called elite clubs have stalled on a move due to reservations over his reported £43m price tag.

But Football Italia claimed West Ham were the one club who are ‘not concerned’ by the valuation and that Moyes remains keen on the forward, who scored 16 goals last season.

There was a development over the weekend, though, which suggests the 23-year-old will be moving imminently.

That’s after West Ham striker target Scamacca was left out of a friendly as a report claims he’s about to be sold.

The bad news for the Hammers is that the report from CalcioMercato also claims that it is because PSG look to have beaten West Ham to the striker.

Scamacca remained on the bench for the entire friendly against Real Vicenza and it is claimed that is because PSG are finally ready to raise their bid for the Italy international.

“The Parisians are incredibly keen to bring the talented Italian forward to the French capital this summer and talks are currently ongoing between the two clubs, kicking off earlier this week,” CalcioMercato and Football Italia report.

“Sassuolo have made it clear that they want exactly €50m (£43m), a little far from PSG’s current offer.

“As highlighted by CalcioMercato, Scamacca sat out Sassuolo’s friendly against Real Vicenza today, remaining on the bench for the entire 90 minutes. Talks between the two clubs are still ongoing and the French side are reportedly ready to raise their bid in an effort to close out a deal.

“It’s likely that negotiations will continue until the bitter end, with Sassuolo not keen to lose the talented 23-year-old for a penny less than he’s worth.”

This is another case which highlights the big danger of Moyes putting all his eggs in one basket with West Ham’s pursuit of Broja.

West Ham simply cannot afford to go into another season with Antonio as their only senior striker.

So we can only hope Moyes has assurances a deal can be done for the Albanian with alternatives dwindling fast as the new season edges ever closer.
