West Ham United boss David Moyes could be making a huge transfer mistake if he sells Felipe Anderson this summer.

That’s if he listens to the opinion of exciting new signing Jarrod Bowen.

The £40million Brazilian winger has struggled in his second season at West Ham.

So much so that Anderson has already been linked with an exit from the London Stadium.

Italian media outlet Corriere dello Sport has reported that the 27-year-old is Napoli’s dream summer signing.

Anderson could be sold by West Ham in next window

And Anderson could be sold by David Moyes this summer, according to a report from Claret and Hugh.

But that would be a hasty move if Bowen’s comments are anything to go by.

One thing football clubs can’t keep doing if they want to continue to progress is sell their best players.

West Ham make a habit of it, though. The most recent examples are Dimitri Payet and Marko Arnautovic.

Regardless of the circumstances, strong, secure, progressive, ambitious clubs keep their best talent more often than not.

Anderson may have struggled to repeat the form of his debut season. But not many West Ham players have shone in this dismal campaign.

Bowen comments suggest Moyes would be making mistake to sell Brazilian star

According to Bowen West Ham would be losing their best player if they were to sell Anderson in the next window (Sky Sports).

“When I first came to training, Felipe Anderson (straight away),” Bowen said when asked by Sky Sports to name West Ham’s best player.

“He’s Brazilian and the skills he’s got are incredible. I think he was injured when I first came, but when he came back and got into training, the stuff he does is incredible.

“He’s so calm about it as well, he makes it look so easy.

‘He’s up there with the best’

“He nutmegs everyone! Luckily, I’m on his team for small-sided games usually, but he nutmegs everyone. I don’t know how he does it, but he does it!

“He’s got to be up there with the best.”

West Ham have invested too much money in Anderson to just give up on him now. The Brazilian is also somewhat harshly criticised because of his price tag.

Statistics from Whoscored.com – the largest detailed football statistics website which is powered by Opta data – show Anderson has put in twice as many tackles as teammate Robert Snodgrass.

Sky Sports have also named the West Ham winger in an alternative team of the season made up of the best dribblers in the top flight based on statistics.
