West Ham United will make a fresh move for Ross Barkley next week.
According to a report from the Mirror, West Ham want to sign the Chelsea ace, who has been in and out of Frank Lampard’s side this season.
The Hammers are desperately short in central midfield, and need more athleticism, power and dynamism.
The east London outfit missed out on Gedson Fernandes to Tottenham.
They have also been linked with moves for Stoke City’s Joe Allen (The Express), and Genk ace Sander Berge (Bleacher Report).

Lampard rebuffed West Ham’s Barkley interest
But former Hammer Lampard was quick to play down talk of Barkley leaving the Blues (Football London).
“There’s no talk here of Ross Barkley going anywhere,” Lampard told Football London.
“He is our player, he played the last couple of games and he has done very well and because of certain circumstances, Ross hasn’t featured as much here.
“But, I have got a lot of faith in Ross. That was just news I heard like everyone else this week and I have no feeling towards it. I am very happy with him.”

Barkley running risk of losing England spot for Euro 2020
Lampard’s comments seemed t0 be the death knell for West Ham’s interest in the England midfielder.
That’s despite the fact Barkley has started just six games in the Premier League this season. His lack of game time puts Barkley at risk of losing his England place for Euro 2020.
The player was an emerging talent during Moyes’s time at Everton.
So far the Scot has been frustrated in the transfer market. But he has managed to sort out his goalkeeping situation with the arrival of Darren Randolph and departure of the hapless Roberto.
But Football Insider claims a West Ham source has told them they will try again.
The report says David Moyes will make a fresh move for Barkley next week.

West Ham to #try again’ for Barkley
“The source explained any more deals are set to come later in the window when selling clubs make final decisions on whether to let their players go and at what price,” Football Insider states.
“Following the departure of former director of football Mario Husillos, West Ham’s recruitment for this window is being spearheaded once again by co-owner David Sullivan…
“West Ham have also had a loan enquiry for Chelsea’s Ross Barkley rebuffed but will make a fresh move for him next week.”
That tallies with information from reliable West Ham insider ExWHUemployee.
The Twitter and radio personality said the Hammers remain interested in Barkley despite their initial attempt being turned down.
