The Hammers are keen to sign the 32-year-old this summer according to Tutto Mercato Web.

The way in which he angled for a move away from the London Stadium (twice) badly tarnished his time with West Ham.

That kind of behaviour was just inexcusable, especially considering how much we needed him at the time.

Mark Noble raves about Marko Arnautovic

When Arnie left West Ham, most of the fans were just glad to see the back of him.

It seems as though that wasn’t the case in the Hammers dressing room, however.

Noble spoke on the Peter Crouch Podcast and opened up about how much he rates the mercurial Austrian:

“Everyone was worried about him when he came. What a funny, funny man though. What a player when he turned it on, some days in training, you couldn’t get close to the fella. I was really sad to see him go.”

A move to re-sign Arnautovic would be an incredibly bold one from David Moyes.

There are some fans who never want to see the 32-year-old in East London ever again.

There are some like Noble, however, who understand just how good he was and wouldn’t mind him being given another crack of the whip.

He has been playing in a far inferior league for nearly two years now, however. His physical attributes surely would have deteriorated, given the fact that he is 32.

If Arnie is available on a free transfer in the summer, however, it might just be worth taking a punt on him.

West Ham need to sign at least TWO strikers this summer. And considering our financial situation, one of those will probably have to be a free transfer or a loan deal.

Perhaps Mark Noble’s comments on Arnautovic will sway some fans’ opinions on the matter.

If the Austrian international does come back to West Ham, however, the fanbase will be divided, that’s for sure.
