West Ham should consider Patrik Schick this summer

West Ham fans will be buzzing heading into the new season, with new signings Sebastien Haller and Pablo Fornals on board, but things could get even better for the Hammers if they make at least one more signing before the transfer window slams shut. And Roma front-man Patrik Schick could be the perfect option for Manuel Pellegrini.

According to Italian media outlet Tutto Mercato Web, the Czech Republic international could be available for just £27 million this summer.

And in today’s day and age, that would represent excellent value for money for West Ham.

Aerial prowess

Standing at 6ft 3in tall, Schick is incredibly strong in the air, and he would provide the Hammers with another very strong option up front.

Technical ability

The Roma ace possesses excellent technique, and his ability to receive the ball in tight areas would surely prove to be a great asset for West Ham.

He’s young

At just 23, Schick still has around a decade left ahead of him at the very highest level.

He is already an incredible talent. If given a new lease of life at the London Stadium, however, he could reach even greater heights.

There is one potential red flag for the Hammers though. Schick has managed just 30 goals in 131 career appearances, and that really is a rather poor return for a striker.

It must be noted, however, that only 55 of those outings have been starts.

And Manuel Pellegrini might just be able to get the best out of him.

For the reported fee of £27 million, Schick really would be a great option for West Ham. And he would provide really strong competition for Haller throughout the course of what will be a long and physically punishing Premier League campaign.
