Bournemouth are in talks to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Jacob Bruun Larsen, according to Sky Sports, and West Ham should hijack the south coast outfit’s interest in the 21-year-old.
Let’s be honest, there are probably areas of the squad other than the attacking department that David Moyes needs to address.
Sometimes there are opportunities that represent themselves, however, that cannot be missed.
And Jacob Bruun Larsen certainly fits into that category.
Sky Sports claims that Dortmund would want just £12.8 million for the talented starlet.
The electric young Dane can play anywhere along the front-line. He has pace in abundance, plays with real intent and has the occasional penchant for the spectacular.
Signing the Dortmund ace would buck the recent trend
West Ham have made a bad habit recently of signing washed up has-beens who are well past their best on extortionate wages.
And Larsen would be the complete opposite to that.
The Denmark international could play on either flank, and his trickery and pace would provide the Hammers with an entirely different facet to their attacking play.
The 21-year-old’s arrival at West Ham could also help bring out the best in Sebastien Haller, what with his ability to whip dangerous crosses into the box on a consistent basis.
In this day and age, £12.8 million for someone with Larsen’s ability and potential is an absolute bargain.
He could easily go on to become one of the world’s best players in the next five or six years.
And West Ham must do everything they can to beat Bournemouth to his signature this month.
Beating the Cherries to Larsen’s signature would also provide the added bonus for the Hammers of getting one over one of their real relegation rivals this season.
It could make the difference between the drop down to the Championship and survival for the east London outfit.
