The Hammers are prepared to pay around £25 million for the 23-year-old centre-forward according to the Daily Mail.
Villa allegedly want to sign Abraham as well (Birmingham Mail).
We’ve read this book before. And we all know how it ends.

Last summer, West Ham and Aston Villa were both chasing Ollie Watkins (Claret & Hugh).
The Villans won the race for Watkins in the end. Dean Smith convinced his board to pay £33 million for the 25-year-old in September last year (BBC).
West Ham to miss out to Aston Villa on Tammy Abraham?
The Chelsea hitman is attracting attention from both clubs. Villa seem to be far more ambitious than the Hammers, however.
The West Midlands outfit certainly seem to be more ruthless and efficient in the manner that they conduct their transfer business.
The fact that West Ham seem to sitting round and twiddling their thumbs this summer is exceptionally frustrating.
Tammy is a top class striker and has been described as ‘powerful and explosive’ by The Telegraph. So missing out on the centre-forward will be a big blow for the Hammers.

When Aston Villa want a player, they seem to get a deal done within a matter of days.
It feels ominously like they could do the same with Abraham. If Villa beat West Ham to the signing of the Chelsea striker, he will undoubtedly go on to be a real hit at Villa Park.
Just like Ollie Watkins has done.
